Meet Our Pack Leader: Brian Slate 

Brian, with over 30 years in IT and Risk Management, offers a unique mix of expertise and dedication as the owner of Woofie's of New Albany. His analytical skills and attention to detail ensure top-notch pet care services, driven by his passion for animals and the demand for quality care in New Albany. Becoming a Woofie’s owner was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up! 

When he's not focused on pet care, Brian enjoys various activities. He can often be found spectating sports, immersing himself in music, or getting lost in a good book. Brian also loves challenging his mind with crossword puzzles and, most importantly, cherishes quality time spent with his family and grandchildren.

Family Values Are the Heart of Our Pet Care Services

Brian and his wife of 30+ years, Margaret (also known as Martie), are proud parents and grandparents. Family is important to Brian, and this family-oriented mindset extends to how we treat every pet that comes into our care – with love, respect, and individual attention. Having recently said goodbye to their beloved pet, Julie (a Shih Tzu-Yorkie mix), Brian and Martie understand firsthand the deep bond between pets and their owners. Julie is proudly featured on their state of the art mobile pet spa van as a loving memorial.

Brian Fetches Inspiration from Every Experience

A chance encounter with Jack "Jungle Jack" Hanna, the former director of the Columbus Zoo from 1978 to 1992, left a lasting impression on Brian. While waiting for different flights at an airport, Brian met Hanna and was struck by his down-to-earth and approachable nature. This memorable experience reinforced our belief in the importance of being personable and accessible – qualities we bring to our interactions with both pets and their owners.

We're not just a business – we’re part of the New Albany, Westerville, Pataskala, Alexandria, Johnstown, and Granville communities. Brian and Martie actively contribute to local charities and volunteer whenever possible. We believe in giving back to the community that has welcomed us so warmly.
