As the leaders and franchise owners of Woofie’s® of East Louisville, Mike and Heather LeMire bring a unique blend of passion, experience, and commitment to pet care services. Their journey into the world of Woofie's began in 2023 when they sought a joint business ownership opportunity that would allow them to build something substantial together and work within an industry close to their hearts.

With decades of combined experience in organizational leadership, strategic planning, marketing, and community engagement, Woofie's aligns perfectly with their goals and desires to engage in a family and pet-centric environment, leveraging their skills to create a positive impact on the lives of pets and pet owners in Louisville, KY.

A Rich Background in Leadership & Community Engagement

Mike, who retired from the U.S. Army after 26 years of service, brings a wealth of knowledge in logistics, operations management, and career counseling. His expertise in teaching strategic leadership and developing faculty positions him well to guide Woofie’s® of East Louisville toward success.

Heather's professional journey through public policy and corporate event planning, notably with elected officials in Kentucky, equips her with critical tools. She has the experience and skills to significantly enhance community engagement and brand growth by organizing creative events that resonate with pet lovers across Louisville.

Active Lives Rooted in Community & Compassion

By tying the knot on June 10, 2023, Mike and Heather combined their families, forming a beautiful clan that includes Mike's children–Rochelle (36) and Matthew (32)–and Heather's children–Madison (22), Lilly (19), and Greyson (17). Their household is further enriched by the presence of their beloved fur babies, Macho, a 14-year-old Pug, and Tucker, an English Cream Golden Retriever, who will soon celebrate his 1^st birthday.

Mike and Heather's zest for life is evident in their love for outdoor adventures, travel, live music, and exploring the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Their commitment to making a difference extends beyond their business, as they actively support Refuge for Women. Recently, they sponsored Mesekerem, a 7-year-old girl in Ethiopia, through Compassion International. They also support local single mothers during the holiday season, demonstrating their ongoing dedication to community service.

More Than Business Owners

Beyond their professional achievements, Mike and Heather are individuals with fascinating personal stories. Heather, a certified personal trainer and fitness competitor, has recently been involved in politics, hosting events with key figures like Senator Rand Paul.

Mike, who once embarked on a venture as an NFL sports agent with his brother, has represented top picks in the NFL and CFL and conducted reenlistment ceremonies for soldiers with VIPs such as Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld during his deployment to Afghanistan.
